Writing for Selective School Exam

Core Program

The Writing for Selective School Exams program is designed to prepare Year 5 and 6 students for the NEW format of the Writing Test in the 2025 NSW Selective Schol exam. Students will learn a variety of skills and competencies to develop confidence in completing computer-based writing tasks. Students complete one computer-based writing task each week.

Course Goals
  • To develop writing skills and competencies
  • To develop effective planning, writing and editing skills within a 30-minute time frame under exam conditions
  • To develop the skills and competencies in responding to previously unseen stimulus questions
  • To reinforce knowledge of various text types that appear in writing exams
  • To develop the skills and confidence in undertaking online writing exams
Course Structure
  • 1 hour lessons per week, during term
  • 10 weeks per term. Please check our timetable for course schedule and pricing
  • Small class group based
  • Experienced educators

Note: Students must bring their own device as there is a computer-based writing task examination component in each lesson.
