Year 1 Maths & General Ability

Core Program

Our program provides your child with an advanced and comprehensive exploration of numeracy. Skills and competencies across all aspects of mathematics are thoroughly investigated. The program covers concepts at a slightly more advanced level than your child will encounter at school.

Course Goals
  • Develop advanced knowledge of number up to three digits
  • Develop numerical operations and basic understandings of fractions
  • Develop basic general ability (thinking skills) concepts
  • Develop concepts of area, time and measurement using formal and informal units
  • Develop concepts of graphing, money, chance and probability
  • Develop concepts of shape, position and temperature
Course Structure
  • Maths and General Ability
  • 4 terms in a year, 10 weeks in a term
  • 1.5 hour lessons per week, during term face-to-face lessons
  • North Shore LIVE (Zoom) lessons not available for Year 1 students
  • Students attend lessons at their allocated time schedule
  • Small class group based
  • Experienced educators
